Home Connections

Occasionally the children are assigned “homework” in art. What this means is that they are asked to bring something in, their “homework” is to remember to do this. Almost always my requests will be reinforced by an email home.

THE FOLLOWING ARE TYPICAL "HOMEWORK" ACTIVITIES:

1) RETURN THEIR ART FOLDERS TO SCHOOL
AFTER EMPTYING THEM AT HOME. They need to do this EVERY time they bring their work home until the end of the year and then the folders are their to keep.

2) BRING IN BOXES
to take home clay projects. Small shoe boxes work well, but any box big enough to hold their project will do. This usually is requested in December and late March/early April.

“DONATIONS “
The Art Room is grateful for donations of the following items, which we use throughout the year in many ways:
1) Washed styrofoam meat trays
2) Any good solid plastic containers (with covers)
3) Yarn, fabric
4) Clean egg cartons
5) Old Adult size Button up shirts (paint smocks)

VOLUNTEERS
First graders do a big Paper Mache sculpture project for half the year, this is a great time to come in and help out. You can click on the link for Extra Art to see when your first grade child's class will be working on this.
